Art has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a mother who is an artist, I was surrounded by creativity at an early age. Watching her work inspired me to pick up my own brushes and pens. Art continues to be a source of calm and joy in my life, whether I’m sketching in pen and ink, painting with watercolor, or creating digitally. It’s my way of bringing ideas to life and sharing a piece of myself with the world.
My fascination with technology started young, thanks to my family’s tech-savvy background. My grandfather worked in IBM’s “computer department” in the 1960s, and my father spent years in telecom, networking, and security. We always had computers at home, and I loved tinkering with them—experimenting with fonts, printing banners on a dot matrix printer, chatting on IRC, writing programs in Q Basic, and, of course, gaming. This early exposure to tech shaped my curiosity and problem-solving skills, which continue to influence my work today.
When I’m not designing or painting, you can often find me playing bass or exploring new music. I love the versatility of the instrument and the way it allows me to connect with a wide range of musical styles. Music fuels my creativity and is a big part of who I am.
Fitness is a newer part of my journey but has quickly become a major source of pride. In 2023, at age 39, I found myself feeling deeply stuck. I’ve struggled with depression and mental health challenges for most of my life, and traditional treatments didn’t seem to help. One day, I decided to go for a walk, and it changed everything. That daily walk turned into a jog, then a run, and before I knew it, I was setting new goals for myself. This year, I’m have logged over 1,000 miles of running—a milestone I never imagined reaching but am incredibly proud of achieving.
