Website Design Project

Web Design

This is a project for a special client who just happens to be my mom. Marita needed a new website to showcase her artwork, and to drive traffic to her Etsy store. The website was built with a Content Management System to make it easy for Marita to upload her own artwork, and create categories herself, without needing to have any web design knowledge.

Web Design with Heart:
Building Marita’s Art Website

This project was a labor of love, created for a very special client—my mom, Marita. As an artist with a growing portfolio, she needed a professional yet approachable website to showcase her artwork and drive traffic to her Etsy store. The design process started with a focus on her needs: a clean, visually striking layout that highlights her art while offering a seamless browsing experience for her audience.

The website features multiple pages, including a homepage, an artwork gallery, an about page, and direct links to her Etsy store. Designed in Figma and built entirely in Webflow, the site is fully responsive, ensuring it looks beautiful and functions perfectly on all devices—from desktops to tablets and smartphones.

To make the site easy for Marita to maintain, I incorporated a robust Content Management System (CMS). This allows her to independently upload new pieces of artwork, categorize them, and update her site whenever she wants—no technical expertise required. The design balances aesthetics and functionality, with intuitive navigation, fast load times, and a modern, polished look that complements her artistic style.

This project was not just about building a website; it was about creating a platform that empowers Marita to share her talent and connect with her audience in a meaningful way.
